Site will help people save money & save dogs’ lives

Note: This is a sponsored post.

PimpMyPooch.com will be a daily deal site for dog owners, according to its founder Jordan Ancel.

The site will be a way for dog owners to save money on dog products and services while also helping dogs in need, he said. He plans to donate a portion of all profits to animal welfare organizations.

“We’d be the only daily deal site that does this,” he said.

First, Ancel is hoping to raise $75,000 for pimp My Pooch through an IndieGoGo campaign running now through June 30.

He’s teamed up with TV stars and dog lovers Brittany Underwood (Hollywood Heights) and Kristen Alderson (General Hospital) for the launch of the campaign.

“I love being part of PimpMyPooch.com because we’ll save people money, but more importantly, we’ll save dogs’ lives,” said Alderson, in a press release.

Anyone who contributes $5 or more to the campaign will receive a gift ranging from a bumper sticker to a two-night stay at the W hotel in Hollywood and more, according to the site’s campaign page.

Plus, the first 100 people to contribute $25 or more will be entered into a drawing to win a “super-swanky dog cage worth $160,” Ancel said.

More about pimp My Pooch

Pet owners love to spoil their pets, but doing so can get expensive.

“I’ve had friends not be able to afford much-needed veterinary treatments for their dogs,” Ancel said.

He wanted to find a way to help dog owners save money so they’ll be able to treat their dogs to the “best of everything without breaking the bank.”

Given the popularity of other daily deal sites such as Groupon and Living Social, Ancel said he thought pimp My Pooch was a “no-brainer,” especially since none of the other sites are focused specifically on dogs.

He said dog-accessory companies, veterinarians and high-end doggy couture companies have already expressed interest in running deals through pimp My Pooch.

What will the funding be used for?

The money raised through IndieGoGo will be used for getting pimp My Pooch’s website launched, Ancel said. This will include:

licensing a daily deal software

branding it

paying a team of people to sign up businesses nationally
